In our newest "how can we help you?" thread a reader asks:
When should we expect the next PGR? Lots of folks have moved or retired and some programs have shrunk while others expanded, it's feels like the 2021 report is already out of date.
This seems like a question to ask Leiter, but if anyone here has any inside knowledge, feel free to share it. In the meantime, I'd suggest that any prospective applicants to philosophy grad programs follow Leiter's rolling list of recent retirements and lateral moves.
Use http://placementdata.com/. Now that we have the APDA, I don't understand why anyone still uses the PGR.

Maybe worth noting, but at the end of Leiter's lateral moves/retirements list, he notes that it won't be coming before fall 2024. My own speculation is that sometime 2025 seems like a reasonable date, considering the gap between editions is traditionally 3-ish years.

re E D
the placementdate is awesome, but it provides very limited information on Australian programs.

re ED
The data on placementdata.com is highly incomplete and, consequently, misleading.

@ED......I can't even understand that data. It just seems to offer crude totals, without taking into account the size of programmes and, in turn, those who didn't make it. (No wonder Oxford comes out top, etc.) As such.......isn't it useless?
