Former Teaching Fellow

I would second Marcus' advice that wide teaching outside of your AOS is the best option (if you have a choice).

I would also advise people to get experience teaching large PHIL101 type courses over more specialised teaching. The reasons are 1) people will assume you can teach in your AOS anyway 2) PHIL101 courses exist everywhere, and there is frequently teaching need in it (and that need is often not included in specifics of job adverts). Being able to contribute to those courses can be a factor in a close competition between early career people with the same/similar AOS.
