Job-market reporting thread (2021-22 job season)

As I noted in opening this season's job-market discussion thread, I had planned to wait until October 1st to open this year's job-market reporting thread. However, given that I have already received some requests to open up the reporting thread, I hereby open this thread for job-market reporting. 

The current thread (below) is only for reporting news on the market (i.e. reporting interviews, flyouts, offers, hires, and so on), so please, report away! If you would like to discuss the job-market, please comment on the other thread. Permalinks to both job threads will remain on the right side-bar of the blog through the end of the job season. Because of Typepad's functionality limitations (which only permits 100 comments before starting a new comment page), readers may elect to bookmark each new page of comments as each new page emerges. I recognize that it can be frustrating to scroll through page after page to get to new comments, and I think this is probably the best solution given Typepad's functionality limitations.

Finally, although it should go without saying, commenters are asked to please remember the Cocoon's supportive mission while reporting. Thanks, and best of luck to all on the market!

Update: please do feel free to report on jobs in other departments that philosophers can be expected to apply to (political theory jobs in political science departments, AI-ethics jobs in interdisciplinary departments, etc.). Just make sure you specify the institution and department so that other readers and commentators don't confuse them with jobs in philosophy departments.

@MSU I tried to apply for that job a few days ago because the job ad on philjobs says the deadline is Jan 15, but I wasn't able to click through the link to the actual application listing... all it said was "Sorry, we can't provide additional information about this job right now". @no MSU - yeah, the deadline on the philjobs ad was incorrect. The actual deadline was Jan. 6 (though on the university's HR site, it said they began reviewing applications on 12/1!). I got lucky, in that I just happened to click through to the application site last week and was able to get my materials in under the wire. Up to that point I was operating on the belief that applications were due on the 15th as well.

@UC Curious: I don't know anyone who's heard from UCSC. I'm also surprised by their delay. A friend emailed them awhile ago asking for their timeline, and never got a response. I wouldn't infer you're out though!

@whattimeline I can’t speak for Swat, but for the others:

No one seems to have heard from Oklahoma, but they had a late deadline (12/10), so, assuming they took a few days off for the holidays, they aren’t really behind schedule.

No one seems to have heard from UCSC either, though one poster said a few pages ago that they didn’t expect to have decisions until late January. That seems reasonable as they must have received something like 500 applications (given that they are one of three open searches in a choice location with a low course load, and one of the others, Brandeis, said they received almost 600).

I know it’s crazy stressful—I’m right there with you—but we should give the search committee folks the same leeway with timelines we like to have our students give us with returning grades.
