I'm happy to introduce the Cocoon's newest Featured Early-Career Author: Nicolas Delon. Nicolas received his PhD in philosophy in 2014 from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and is now Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow in Environmental Studies at NYU.
Nicolas' research focuses on animal ethics and moral status, but he has interests in ethics more generally, including moral psychology, experimental philosophy, legal and political philosophy, and ecology. His dissertation, A Contextual Theory of the Moral Status of Animals, "offers a contextual theory of the moral status of animals that combines the moral demands of impartiality and the moral significance of relationships of vulnerability and partiality." His online papers include, "Moral Status, Final Value, and Extrinsic Properties" [2014, Proceedings of the Aristotelian Society] and "Animals Sneaking into Bentham's Pannomion."
Nicolas will be with us for the next couple weeks. If you're an early career author who has an interest in being a Featured Early-Career Author, just shoot me an email at [email protected]. I'd love to keep this series rolling with a diverse variety of authors. In any case, welcome Nicolas!
Thanks a lot for the opportunity, Marcus, and hi everyone.
Looking forward to posting here (more coming soon!).
