How does one become a member of the Cocoon?

One sends me an email at marvan@ut.edu requesting to become a member, along with relevant details (institutional affiliation, status -- i.e. grad student, faculty -- and, if you have a website, the URL). ;)

Do regular readers and occasional contributors of comments (but who do not want to register as full fledged 'contributors' of new content) count as 'members'? If not, may I request guest status? The smoker on the 28th is, if I recall, the slightly less well-attended reception, so might be a good time to meet. The evening of the 27th might also be a good time to consider an even more casual drink.
