I’ve been a big fan of the PhilPapers project since its inception, and I got involved with it some time ago by becoming the editor of the Modality category. I’ve been too busy to devote much time to it, but now that I’ve finally got some spare time, I got around to working on it a little bit. I was also reminded that many interesting and central PhilPapers categories still lack editors. Since The Philosophers' Cocoon is becoming a meeting place for active younger scholars, I thought it might be worthwhile to mention this here. You can find a list of all categories and editors (as well as those lacking editors) here.
What do you get out of it? Well, for one thing, it's an easy way to stay up to date about new publications in your area, and perhaps further motivation to actually read some of that work. Of course, you do also get your name mentioned on the page, and I think that it's a not a bad line on the CV either, since the PhilPapers project is surely one of the greatest "services to profession" ever undertaken. It's already an invaluable resource to my work and together we can make it even better!
