I would be surprised if your university didn't have some sort of training for this. Your department might not even know about it so for sure check that out. I just completed some training at my university and it was really helpful. We had the choice of doing it through videoed lectures or real-time.

Amanda, we do in fact have mandatory training for online teaching, and unfortunately ours is pretty much useless. It mostly consisted of regurgitating a lot of old education theory, practically all of which either has no empirical support or has actually been empirically disproved. Sadly there was very little consideration of the nuts and bolts of online teaching.

Amanda

Sorry to hear that RC. Perhaps one of your former institutions would be of more help. (It varies a lot, but my PhD school will offer training to graduates.)

I found the program Camtasia 2 very easy to use in recording and editing my online lectures at home.

How about checking out some online courses from EdX, UDemy, Coursera, etc.?
